CONCEPT: Read potted biographies of 100 important figures in World history, from Che Guevara to Pablo Picasso.
DELIVERY: This is a well presented app that loads to a menu of 100 portraits for you to select from. The range of figures covered is great and nicely varied, with an emphasis on political figures but room for important artists and thinkers too.
Each biography comprises of three screens, each with images and text. This first features a splash image and enlarged quote, n introductory paragraph and details of their early life. The second is a list of key facts and achievements. The third contains a potted timeline and details of their death. This streamlined approach makes it ideal for young learners who would get lost on Wikipedia or other more detailed biography resources.
LIMITATIONS: The main problem is the lack of search functionality or even a directory. You have to recognise the face from the home screen to even know where to start and there is no way to know exactly who is covered in the app without clicking through them all. Weblinks to more detailed sources would also have benefitted the app's depth.
CONCLUSION: A decent idea, presented nicely and pitched well for kids. It's Just a shame it is not organised in a more user friendly way. 3/5
