CONCEPT: Learn about bar, line and pie graphs and how to interpret the data from them.
DELIVERY: There are several apps available that allow users to build graphs effortlessly (such as Easy Chart or Numbers) but Graphs offers something different. What you've got here is an app for actually learning about how to construct a graph and interpret the data.
You can choose to learn about line, bar or pie charts as well as about mean, mode and median averages. These mini-lessons are presented in an easy to understand, clear way using simple sample data.
The instructional section of the app is supplemented by a set of multiple choice quizzes on each graph type. There are two levels of difficulty and twenty questions in each set. The questions on offer include interpreting values, including those that fall between the given scale, as well as differences between values.
LIMITATIONS: It would be nice to able to export or track data from the tests. The difference between the two difficulty levels is also not as differentiated as it could have been.
CONCLUSION: A little limited in scope but useful for introducing students to data presentation and interpretation. 3/5
