MONKI ANIMAL BUILDER
CONCEPT: A colourful creature creation tool.
DELIVERY: fairly straightforwards this one. Users crack open eggs to hatch the torso of a creature. Having selected one eg can then select from a range of body parts and accessories to embellish their creature further. The body can also be painted using a simple palette of six colours.
The interface is clean and child friendly with the creature interacting as they are touched and speaking in the chosen language. Some of the body parts also animate on occasion.
Upon completion, an image of the creature can be exported to the camera roll.
LIMITATIONS: Each body part is added separately meaning you have to trawl through to find a matching pair of legs if you want them. Some elements may also be be unclear for youngsters as to where they are intended to go eg antennae.
CONCLUSION: A little limited perhaps but still a good choice for creative play with younger learners. 3/5
